SpamAssassin ‘scans’ the header and the body of each message, calculates a spam score and then proceeds in accordance with the level that you have opted for. Each mailbox can have a different level and you can choose whether the email messages that the anti-spam filter flags as spam should be deleted or re-sent to some other email address where you can read them at a later time, so as to prevent deleting an authentic email message.
